About me

As an experienced therapist I will provide a safe, confidential, and caring therapeutic relationship in which you will feel emotionally supported while you explore and deal with whatever you want to bring to our sessions. You may have experienced a sudden life change or been told by another health professional that you would benefit from CBT for a specific problem such as anxiety, or depression. You may feel you have lost the old 'you' and not know exactly what you want or need, but feel you must to do something.  I work with clients face to face, and through zoom video link and telephone so you can access therapeutic help in whichever way is best for you.

I offer an initial free of charge 30 minute consultation to enable you to find out whether I am the right therapist for you, and if you decide to go ahead, further sessions will last 50 minutes each. We will have regular reviews so that you can ensure you are getting what you need out of the therapeutic process.

Please click on my website above for more information and don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions.

As a fully qualified BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist I have a background in person-centred counselling, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). I have a particular interest in mental health and neurodiversity and I work with people both short term and long term. I also provide services for Employee Assistance Programmes.

I work in a comfortable dedicated counselling room in Lytham St Annes, with flexible weekday appointments between 8.30 and 4.30pm. I have worked in personal development, mentoring and counselling roles for over 25 years in voluntary organisations such as the Citizens Advice and YMCA (Fylde).

“I would recommend the service to anybody who felt they needed this kind of support. It helped me regain my confidence and self-belief.”

“From our first meeting I felt comfortable and safe in the knowledge I could “let it out” without being judged or pressurised in any way – and always came away feeling more positive and stronger. Thank you!”

“It has helped bring closure and focus to my issues and let me have freedom in so many aspects of my life.”

“Without detailing the reasons for my counselling I would like to comment on how very helpful, kind, reassuring and knowledgeable I found Fiona to be. Her endless patience and understanding and guidance has helped me enormously. Our meetings were always held in total privacy in extremely comfortable surroundings.”

“I would certainly recommend the service to my friends. I have felt valued and listened to.”

Massively useful, has helped me a lot moving forward to university.”

“I have to admit to being a little sceptical about counselling at first, how wrong I was… Fiona was so attentive and understanding and made me feel comfortable from the start through various issues. Wouldn’t hesitate to see Fiona again should the need arise.”

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
