About me
You may be very clear on what you want from therapy, in which case I can offer a place to explore, clarify, understand, observe, feel or identify strategies to support .Or you may feel very fuzzy about what you need, but know things are not right, or that you are struggling. Part of my role here would be to help you untangle the things impacting on you and to find out what you would need to thrive and feel clear.
Most importantly I want you to feel change is possible, to notice that things are shifting or becoming clear, to gain insight and to leave therapy with the inner tools or resources you need to lead the best life you can.
Choosing a therapy and therapist is hard work, and I aim to make the process easier by offering a free 20 minute meeting, which allows us both to assess whether we match .By match, I mean do you feel I understand you, do you feel comfortable with me, do you like the way I communicate? I look at whether I have the skills and expertise to meet your needs, if I can understand the things you are struggling with and offer you the time or day and length of therapy needed.
I have 14 years’ experience as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, have trained in three therapeutic approaches and worked in charities, the NHS and more recently in private practice. I am a warm and sensitive person, and want to work with you in the way which best meets your needs. I am accredited by the BACP, meaning I have reached , and maintain competence, training and standards required to be a professional therapist .I am also accredited by The EMDR Association, to deliver Eye Movement and Desensitisation Reprocessing for trauma and Adverse Childhood experiences.
My practice uses evidence based strategies and interventions to offer compassionate, meaningful therapy .EMDR is a therapy recommended by NICE for trauma, using tapping or eye movements to reprocess traumatic events. .I offer exploration and a compassionate response to your situation and to the issues you face. Why not get in touch to arrange a free meeting?

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
