Fiona Baikie MBACP (Registered) Counselling Adults And Young People
With experience of working with adults and young people, I can offer you a safe space to explore your feelings without judgement. I can help facilitate change in your life and enable you to uncover and resolve any troubling issues.
I completed my training at a charity youth centre in Aylesbury and have experience of working at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) within the NHS. If you are a young person or parent concerned about their child, I can offer the support and safe environment that a young person needs to help with their often-difficult journey through life.
In addition to working with young people, I also have experience working with adults. I can offer you professional support and empathy to explore the issues that you are having difficulty with. I have experience of dealing with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicide ideation, aggression, anger, social phobia, bullying, trauma and relationship situations.
I am a person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I receive regular supervision in line with BACP regulations. I predominantly work from a therapy room in central Thame, however, my home office location in Haddenham enables a convenient link to Aylesbury, where I also have access to a therapy room. Home visits in the local area can also be arranged depending on personal circumstances.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
I offer an initial consultation session lasting approximately 30 minutes which is free of charge. This gives us an opportunity to meet and discuss whatever your needs may be and whether you think that counselling is going to be right for you.
Following the initial session, if we agree to work together, I will then offer 50-minute counselling sessions and usually I offer these on a weekly basis, although I can be flexible on the frequency of sessions. My rate is £50 per session. I can sometimes offer concessions for those on low income – this can be discussed in person. We can work together on an open-ended basis or agree on how many sessions from the start.
