I am a qualified, registered and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist. I can provide a safe space for you to talk without criticism, judgement or blame. I work from a psychodynamic approach which recognises that present difficulties, such as depression, anxiety or relationship problems, can be linked to earlier experiences. Understanding the underlying nature of your difficulties can help to alleviate suffering.
To explore if psychotherapy is for you, the first step is a short phone conversation during which you can tell me a little about your situation and raise any questions you have. Please send me an email with your phone number and a convenient time I can call you. If you feel you would like to explore psychotherapy / counselling further we can then arrange a meeting.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience in working with a broad range of issues including, anxiety, stress, bereavement, anger, relationship difficulties, eating disorders and phobias. I have an Postgraduate Diploma in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation, which is one of the leading training institutions in the country. I have also worked for the NHS as an honorary psychotherapist at Barts hospital.
I am a registered professional member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I follow their professional codes of ethics, and complaints and grievance procedures.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
