About me

UKCP & AFT reg.

If you would like a safe and confidential place to talk over your concerns please ring or email.

All of us at times find events/life/relationships challenging. When these worries become overwhelming, or you cannot see a way through seeking help is always beneficial. Counselling/therapy provides an opportunity for you to understand what has contributed to your current situation, both past and present, and helps you to untangle your thoughts so that a way forward and change, if that is what you want, becomes possible. Sometimes just the process of talking with an experienced therapist provides relief and a sense of ease.

I have worked for many years with families, couples, individuals, children and young people, at times when they have felt vulnerable or in great distress, and at a loss as to how to manage life better.

When you phone I will ask for a few details about yourself, why it is you feel you need some support, and why now feels like the time to address what is happening. You can ask for further clarification about how I work and my professional experience.

As a systemic psychotherapist I will support you in therapy

  • by listening and clarifying what it is you are looking for or want to change
  • in gaining insight and understanding about your worries or thoughts
  • in thinking about your relationships, family background, and your patterns of responding that may be helpful or unhelpful
  • by exploring with you what would be useful in terms of change, and how you could set about achieving that change

I offer an assessment session so that you can decide whether you/your family/child want to continue seeing me for a longer-term piece of work.

We will negotiate how often you would like to meet and the length of the session. I do not see everyone weekly, but agree a frequency which is felt to be beneficial.

I will review progress at regular intervals so that you feel that the work is progressing in the way that you find most helpful.
