Fay Apps BA(hons) MBACP
I can offer you the space and time to really hear what you would like to talk about and I aim to create a space that feels comforting, values you and shows you that you can explore how you’re feeling without fear of judgment.
Being able to access counselling can be difficult emotionally, financially and for those that have a disability. I am passionate that counselling should be available for everyone that feels they need it. That is why I have British Sign Language NVQ level 6 and have been trained by the RNIB to work with visually impaired clients. I offer flexible hours because I recognise that not everyone works the same hours and we can have demanding home lives. I also know that for many of us money can be tight and can stop us getting the therapy we need. That’s why I offer some reduced rate sessions.
I recognise that for people with a disability and their families/carers that the challenges of life can seem very overwhelming and having a safe and confidential space to talk is really valuable. Disability and being a carer is an area that I have particular interest in but I value all clients and we can meet for a first assessment to see if we would like to work together. It's important that you find the right counsellor for you.
I have a private and comforting summer house that I use for clients at my home or for those clients that may have mobility or other challenges that make travel difficult. I can do home visits within the local area if needed.
I reserve a number of sessions for those on a low income and offer a discount rate for counselling students.
How Counselling can help you
Starting counselling can seem scary or you may feel anxious about what it will be like but it will be your time for you to talk freely and openly without judgement. Family and friends mean well when they listen but they maybe quick to offer advice or judgement. Counselling allows you to explore your feelings and find your own answers.
I offer Person-Centred counselling to individuals and I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
I have a driveway for parking or plenty of free parking nearby plus near to local bus routes (174,496).
