About me

During this challenging time, many of us are experiencing; uncertainty, fear, loneliness and many other feelings. Having space and time to talk those feelings through and explore what is going on for you at the moment, can be really helpful. I can offer you the space and time to really hear what you would like to talk about and I aim to create a space that feels comforting, values you and shows you that you can explore how you’re feeling without fear of judgment.

At this time, I am able to provide counselling via telephone, Zoom or Microsoft teams so that you can still access time for you to talk. Being able to access counselling can be difficult emotionally, financially and for those that have a disability. I am passionate that counselling should be available for everyone that feels they need it. That is why I have British Sign Language NVQ level 6 and have been trained by the RNIB to work with visually impaired clients.

I offer flexible hours because I recognise that not everyone works the same hours and we can have demanding home lives, particularly at the moment. I also know that for many of us money can be tight and can stop us getting the therapy we need. That’s why I offer some reduced rate sessions.

I reserve a number of sessions for those on a low income, furloughed staff and key workers. I offer a discount rate for counselling students.

How Counselling can help you

Starting counselling can seem scary or you may feel anxious about what it will be like but it will be your time for you to talk freely and openly without judgement. Family and friends mean well when they listen but they maybe quick to offer advice or judgement. Counselling allows you to explore your feelings and find your own answers.

I offer Person-Centred counselling to individuals and I look forward to meeting you and working with you. I will support you in you finding the best answers for you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
