About me

I am an integrative registered Counsellor Working with individuals and couples

Sessions will be held online or by telephone

Is life becoming more problematic?

Struggling to manage or understand your feelings?

Affected by trauma or anxiety chronic disorder?

Is addiction or alcohol misuse affecting your life?

Feeling hurt or lost when a relationship ends?

Counselling can help you find calm and relief from life's difficulties

My experience at working with people over many years as an Integrative humanistic Counsellor / Psychotherapist leads me to recognise the capacity for self growth in each individual.

What can I expect from counselling and psychotherapy?

At the first session we will identify your aims and goals reflecting on how we can work together to achieve the best of the sessions. We will consider issues causing you distress listen to feelings difficulties you may be facing. In time by  reflecting on thought processes reactions and behaviours involved facilitates a deeper insight into your life. The awareness gained aids self determination building up the resources needed to move on with your life. In this work challenges can occur at times requiring an environment where the client feels safe able to trust the therapist. In my work I provide a caring therapeutic space the client able to share freely without fear or prejudice.

The therapeutic process will give you the opportunity to gain insight when problems occur, at what stages in your life. Consider dynamics affecting your relationships and choices you have to manage constructive changes in your life. When making connections between difficulties you are faced with, your self perceived ideas and reactions involved, you will build up inner resources towards self determination. Gain confidence to make your own decisions, how to relate to others constructively accepting that you have choices in how to manage your life. Building up awareness on how you can relate to self and others in a constructive way learning to manage changes at times needed towards reaching self fulfilment.

In my work with clients I am committed to provide a confidential safe environment to explore, reflect and promote well being. Whatever challenges we may face each of us has the potential to manage our lives. Counselling and psychotherapy provides that opportunity when we put ourselves forward. I place the struggles I am presented with at the core of my work.

I practice in Central and West London working with individuals and couples. I am also a trained supervisor. In my work I adapt my therapeutic integrative approach according to client needs gaining insights making connections between issues presented. As well as running my private practice I also work as a Trauma Specialist for a rape crisis organisation in London. I have long term experience in helping support vulnerable older individuals in their homes.

After my initial training I gained experience working with individual clients as well as running groups. I am familiar at dealing with issues associated with depression, anxiety, self- esteem, bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, sexual identity, anger, trans-gender and cultural issues, traumatic experiences and substance misuse difficulties.

I have worked in the field for over twenty five years covering substance misuse problems,  traumatic stress disorders and other issues. In my work as a trauma specialist I help people who suffered traumatic painful experiences recover and move on with their lives. Those impacted by any form of emotional physical or sexual violence either rooted in early childhood or more recent times.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
