About me

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad or experiencing a quieter sense of stuckness, fear or grief that needs some attention. My therapeutic approach focuses on creating and holding a space where you feel safe to explore the roots of what is going on for you.

I work integratively, drawing from relational, existential, psychodynamic, and attachment-based approaches to support you in processing difficult emotions and experiences. As a therapist, I am always curious about how our patterns of relating to ourselves and others—both in the present and past—reflect our earliest relationships and experiences and understanding how this affects us.

I care deeply about creating a space where it feels possible and safe to explore what is unspoken within you and connect with the parts of yourself that may feel shrouded in shame, entangled or left behind. I also deeply welcome the exploration of how systems of oppression and our intersecting identities impact our sense of safety, connection, and belonging. Through processing these things in a safe and held space, it becomes more possible to live with a greater sense of wholeness, understanding and self-acceptance.

I have over 7 years of experience working therapeutically with a broad range of issues and themes. Some of the areas I specialise in are trauma (both childhood and adult), abuse, complex family dynamics and relationship and attachment difficulties. I also work with people navigating migration and diaspora experiences, marginalisation and oppression, as well as religious and cultural trauma.

I have extensive experience helping individuals navigate existential concerns, spirituality, sexuality and gender diversity, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, shame, and feelings of stuckness or being lost. I am also passionate about supporting the process of identity exploration and deconstruction.

In addition to my private work, I work as a group therapist in a therapeutic community supporting people seeking asylum who have survived violence and persecution.

I understand that finding the right therapist can feel difficult, so I offer a free 20-minute consultation to help you get a sense of me, and how we might work together as well as to answer any questions you may have about the therapy process. If my profile resonates with you, I invite you to reach out.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
