How I work
The psychotherapeutic process is a very personal journey. If you decide to contact me, you will be offered an initial session which will normally take about 60 to 90 minutes. This first appointment is principally an information gathering session. I will ask you a variety of questions to gain a better understanding of you and the issues you are currently grappling with, and they way you think and function in the world. It is also aimed at helping you understand how I work and to see whether we are well suited to work together.
If we then agree to begin work together, we will jointly identify those most pressing areas to address; consider the most suitable psychotherapeutic intervention and its duration (short-term, long-term or open-ended). We will also agree on the arrangements for subsequent sessions including location and fees.
The subsequent sessions are normally fifty minutes long and held weekly, unless more frequent work is required; at the same time and location.
Any therapeutic contact is an emotional process and at times is bound to cause an array of feelings from feeling anxious and insecure to relieved and hopeful. However, in therapy with me you will always be treated with the utmost respect and dignity in an atmosphere of care and confidentiality.
For an initial consultation, terms and fees, please contact me by email.
