Fabio Valenti, Psychodynamic Therapist, (MSc, PG. Dip)
I provide a safe, reliable, and structured space where you lead the work and are given the freedom to explore issues without judgement.
I specialise in Psychodynamic therapy, which offers you an in-depth, professional, and transformative long term experience. Psychodynamic therapy is based on the oldest and most well established form of psychotherapy- psychoanalysis- but is a more dynamic and fluid version. Unlike other therapies, psychodynamics is more like a journey than a prescriptive tool. I work with you, figuring out with you what is going on, and how to derive meaning and transformation from some of the most difficult experiences and situations, both in the past and present.
Psychodynamic therapy is a long term form of therapy that works best with people who are curious about their inner life, and want to make a brave commitment to their own development. It is not an easy therapy, and it is not quick, but it has the potential to provide real, meaningful change. Many people who have tried CBT and have found that it hasn't worked for them often do better in psychodynamic therapy.
I have extensive experience as a therapist, and I work both privately and within the NHS. I help people with all sorts of issues, but most commonly these are depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship difficulties, self esteem, trauma, sleep issues, sexual dysfunction, childhood problems, loneliness, bereavement and OCD. Although I have experience working with psychiatric disorders, I am unable to offer help with psychiatric problems, such as schizophrenia, psychosis, bi-polar etc. from my private practice.
Feel free to contact me and we can begin to talk about what might be best for you.

I am a Psychodynamic therapist. Psychodynamic therapy is a specialist form of psychotherapy that requires one of the most rigorous and intensive training of all therapies. It offers the most in depth form of therapy to those who wish to embark on a journey of self discovery. All psychodynamic therapists undergo their own therapy, so I know what it is like to be on the other side of the room.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
