About me

Hello and thank you for having a look at my profile.

I hope you find all the information you need here but please feel free to get in touch with any further questions.

As a psychologist, counsellor and coach I see each person as unique and work with you as an individual.

I see my role as walking alongside you to explore how you feel bringing a psychological and emotional perspective.

I see therapy as a developing conversation which explores the possibilities for changing and improving your life. To get you to where you want to be.

We talk through your current life crisis, problem or confusion. We consider how past experiences may still trigger certain feelings and reactions in you at the same time as developing tools to help you straight away.

I bring a hopeful, positive mindset to help you think through what is happening in your life.

Together we will explore how you currently experience your world and discover new possibilities for your life.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and I firmly believe that you can transform your patterns, your thoughts and your life.

I offer online, telephone and face to face counselling and I always try to find you an appointment within a week of you getting in touch with me.

Please ask if you would like dog therapy (when we have my young dog, Enzo, in the room with us).

I offer a safe, confidential space where you can look at your world and feelings without judgement.

People come to therapy for many reasons.

For some a sudden loss or trauma may have made coping difficult.

Others may want to gain more insight into themselves to change their patterns.

And some experience personal, emotional or relationship difficulties which they would like to understand.

Sometimes you just don’t know what's wrong but need to talk to someone to work out what’s going on.

Whatever your reasons, research has shown that speaking to a supportive professional can be very helpful.

Together we will decide whether a brief intervention for a current life crisis or longer term therapy will be the most helpful for you.

I work from a private location near Tidworth, about 10 minutes from Andover, Amesbury or Stockbridge in Hampshire.

Public transportation and free parking are available.

Experience

I have been a practising psychotherapist for ten years working in a variety of settings, in both long and short term therapy, including the NHS, the University of Surrey, Grayshott Medical Spa and in private practice.

I have worked with a range of personal issues and have over 5,000 hours practice experience.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework for good practice. I am also a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

My areas of special interest are Relationships, Anxiety, Trauma, Burn out and Nutritional Psychology (which looks at how diet and supplements fuel your brain and help improve your mood naturally).

I see people with a wide range of issues and have successfully treated them by integrating counselling and coaching styles incorporating CBT and NLP into my approach. I specialise in giving you tools to regulate your nervous system to take with you for the rest of your life.

We can explore together during your initial session what is best for you.

I like to find the tools that will help you feel better quickly so that you can live your best life.

I help people when they are experiencing:

  • Anxiety
  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder
  • Burn out
  • Concussion/TBI
  • Dysregulated nervous system
  • Depression
  • Feeling sad
  • Low self-esteem
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Relationship patterns and issues
  • PTSD
  • Changing patterns of behaviour
  • Emotional abuse
  • Bullying
  • Family issues
  • Parenting issues
  • Stress
  • Loneliness
  • Affairs and betrayals
  • Separation and divorce
  • Finding life difficult
  • Finding change difficult
  • Making life changing decisions
  • Difficulties achieving goals

Depression and Anxiety can be experienced in very different ways from feeling sad, feeling tired all the time to panic attacks, generalised anxiety disorder and PTSD. As well as talking through how you are feeling we can look at positive actions you can take to start making the changes so that you can start to feel how you would like to again.

I have experience helping patients, their careers and their families, cope with diagnosis, treatment and recovery from illness.

Having experienced Post Concussion Syndrome myself I have a particular interest in brain injuries and helping people find their way through this trauma.

I have also worked in a Cancer ward and on an award winning Diabetes management team.

Having support and someone to talk to outside of friends and family at times of change, loss and grief can be so helpful.

Coping with betrayal and affairs in relationships from suspicion and discovery to separation and divorce can trigger many extremely difficult feelings and situations that talking through with someone who will listen without judgement can be such a relief and help you find a way forwards.

I have coached many adults to overcome bullying in school, in the workplace or in their home. This often involves looking at ways to respond differently, how to prioritise and express your own needs and building self-esteem. Once this pattern is changed it positively effects your relationships for the rest of your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
