About me

I enjoy working with difficult and complex feelings - often leading to complex behaviours. Emotions are fascinating because they can be so multi-layered and can change so quickly, often leaving others and ourselves confused, anxious, lost or even ashamed. Unraveling what’s going on, what it is really about and how to get back to feeling more in control is at the very heart of my work with my clients. While some clients present primarily confused by or overwhelmed with their feelings, others show well-known presentations like panic attacks, depression, PTSD, eating-disorders or body-related symptoms like pain or restlessness. While I always think emotion-centered, I use a variety of evidence-based interventions to tackle all layers of my clients’ problems.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training as a clinical psychologist in Germany offered me the opportunity to work in a wide variety of settings and clients, learning from leading experts in psychotherapy and psychiatry. My main background is a very evidence-based understanding of how mental health problems develop, what makes them persist and how they can be treated. I primarily refer to modern emotion focused approaches, as I experience this as the most efficient way right into the center of a problem. CBT and EMDR support my emotion focused work, offering a wide range of symptom-specific protocols.
I am also trained as an Emotion Focused Couples Counsellor.
