Eva De Marchi MSc MBACP
*** Covid-19 Update. I continue to offer counselling sessions - online or on the phone - in view of resuming face to face sessions as soon as it safe to do so. ***
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. I provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment regardless of gender, nationality or sexual orientation. You might be suffering from depression, emotional distress, isolation, displacement, grief, anxiety, or you might want to change something in your life but don’t know-how. Life experiences and unconscious conflicts that contribute to your current difficulties will be explored in the course of your therapy.
We will discuss your needs during the assessment session. Shorter and focused interventions focus on a specific issue whilst longer/open-ended work addresses the deeper, underlying issues that are disturbing your everyday life and help you to explore the unconscious dynamics influencing your relationships, behavioural patterns and causing you distress.
I practice in West Norwood and in London Bridge but I currently offer only Skype or telephone sessions.
I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - membership number: 379118) and adhere to its code of ethics.
I attend regular clinical supervision and engage in Continuing Professional Development.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, with a 3 year post-graduate MSc (BACP accredited) and training at the Site of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. In both short term and long term/open ended work the development of our therapeutic relationship will help you to reflect on yourself and will help you to understand your behavioural and relational patterns.
I am an honorary psychotherapist at South London and the Maudsley NHS Trust. Previously I worked in South London GP surgeries providing short term and focused counselling. I have a keen interest in working with displacement, loss, childhood trauma and relational difficulties. I provide consultancy advice to NGOs and I support field workers dealing with secondary trauma.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
