About me
I am a fully qualified and accredited Core Process Psychotherapist. I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy(UKCP). I have worked as a Psychotherapist and have held a successful private practice for 14 years. I also have a rich background in music and education.
I offer short or longer term psychotherapy in a safe, comfortable and respectful environment. I have worked with adults and children over many years and can detect many of a client's problems from how the voice is used, and help clients find their own voice in their own lives.
I am available most evenings and weekends and I practice in South Lanarkshire but can also be available to meet in a practice near Charing Cross area in Glasgow.

Fees
I offer a sliding fee scale from £45 -£55 per session with a couple of concessionary low fee spaces.
Further information
I am aware that choosing a therapist that you feel you can work with is an important process and with this in mind I offer a initial meeting to see if I might be someone you could speak with about what is going on in your life.
Sessions are totally confidential. They are weekly and last for one hour. The first session is free of charge and is for you to explore whether you would like to engage in a series of therapy sessions. Should we jointly decide to work together I usually ask for an initial commitment of six weekly sessions.
Core Process Psychotherapy is a UKCP-accredited therapy that addresses issues of relationship, depression, anxiety, trauma, mental health issues or simply the on-going pressures of modern life. It is an invitation to be fully listened to and uncover that which is blocking full relationship and aliveness. I work both with the psyche and the spirit to allow the client to touch into the deepest part of their being. In so doing depression, anxiety trauma can come to the surface and be released.
I work with the body, with the voice, with spirit, with music, finding creative ways of bringing to the surface difficult issues. I specialise in using the voice as a vehicle for discovering blocks in relationship and communication, opening up to more full relationship. This is due to me being a voice specialist having studied for many years as an opera singer with Dr Joan Alexander and John Hauxwell from the RSAMD.
Prior to this, in the 1970's, I trained and worked as a diversional therapist in a mental hospital for adults with special needs. I have also more recently worked in special education with young people suffering from social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and have undergone a therapeutic crisis intervention course. This experience has been beneficial to me and has enriched my work as a psychotherapist.
