Free Consultation: Email me to arrange a free 15 minute consultation before you decide to book an appointment. I am registered with the major health insurance companies.
Assessment: We can then arrange an initial meeting where we will discuss what concerns you, or your child, and how you would like your therapist to help you. An assessment is usually carried out over two sessions. The first session focuses on the here and now and the second on your personal and family history.
Therapy Sessions: After we collaborate and agree on a way forward, based on your goals, we can book in some therapy sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Working Together: The most important aspect of my work is developing a positive, rewarding therapeutic relationship with you and any family members. I find nothing more satisfying in my work than observing the progress adults and young people can make when they are able to draw on their strengths and abilities to overcome their problems. I truly believe that everyone is capable, with support, to overcome their problems or manage them. I provide empowerment, psychological techniques and a shared understanding so we can tackle the process together.
My Experience: I am HCPC registered, BPS accredited and a professionally insured Clinical Psychologist working in NHS and private practice. I have worked in multi-disciplinary teams with clients with a range of severe mental and physical health, neurological conditions, challenging behaviour and cognitive problems, with very positive results. I am editing a book “Innovations in Therapy for Paediatric Acquired Brain Injury” to help children and families affected by childhood brain injury.
My Approach: I tailor make all therapies to the person, child or young person’s needs and draw on the best available evidence. This could mean offering a combination of different therapies such as CBT, systemic and narrative approaches or integrating several therapeutic methods until we feel we are making progress.
