“Counselling is teaching people to feel alive rather than just survive!” -anon
I am an integrative counsellor with over 15years experience and have had training in Humanistic, Cognitive behavioural, Psychodynamic and Solution Focussed Approaches. I seek to treat you as the unique individual you are and creatively apply this understanding. Assisting you to explore and gain a deeper sense of your issues with a view to changing any negative impact of your past history. While building hope and encouraging you to focus on change and the new future you want to build
My aim is to offer you a safe, secure, confidential environment, where you will not be judged or feel exposed but listened to and heard and in doing so I hope you will start to hear your own inner voice, gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of yourself
I have an established counselling practice based at The Well Therapy Centre in central Bridgend which provides a calm, comfortable, secure and private therapy room. The Well is easily accessible by public transport and has its own free onsite parking.
Please see website for directions www.thewellbridgend.co.uk
I also offer Supervision for Counsellors
In my counselling practice I work in an integrative way while in supervision I focus with the counsellor on their chosen modality.
I have been a qualified supervisor for 10 years (completing the Supervision modules while undertaking MSC in Professional development in counselling at University of Bristol).
I have experience of providing supervision to a variety of organisations and individuals in; Educational Settings (including University, Further Education and Schools based Services) Business, Charities, Support services.
I also provide supervision to individual Counselling practitioners in private practice. I value working with student’s undertaking counselling training and am happy to write reports for training providers.
We would initially meet to explore your individual needs and negotiate a contract outlining how we will work together. I would offer you as a supervisees an open, supportive learning environment, a space in which to explore and reflect purposefully on your counselling practice.
My aim is to assist you to continue to expand your knowledge, grow and be creative within your counselling practice, highlighting and work through ethical issues and dilemma’s that arise as we examine and unpack your client work together.
