Erna Aagaard Evans UKCP and BACP Accredited.
My consulting room in the West end of Folkestone is in a quiet location near Sandgate and close to the Leas. I offer a secure and confidential setting in which to talk about whatever issues may be troubling you - for example: anxiety, depression, repeating patterns of behaviour, relationship difficulties, loss, long term emotional problems, or a lack of fulfilment or meaning in your life.
I have experience both in private practice and in the NHS, working with individuals from very diverse backgrounds with a wide range of issues. I am accredited with The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Taking the first step can be daunting. Please feel welcome to telephone me or send an email with any queries you might have. If you decide to proceed I will then contact you to arrange a time for us to speak for 10-15 minutes on the telephone. This is so that I can get an initial impression of what you are looking for. An appointment can then be made for the first session, or it may be that I can advise you on where to look for help that better suits your needs.
Sessions are normally 50 minutes long.
Therapy requires a commitment over time from you and your therapist. A minimum of once weekly sessions will be offered and we would agree a regular time to meet on the same day each week. I specialise in depth psychotherapy using the psychoanalytic couch, please see my website for more information.
