About me
Hi, I'm Erin, I offer a humanistic, person-centred approach to counselling alongside skills in sand play therapy. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, illness, relationship and family issues, bereavement and loss plus many others.
I am guessing that you are here because you are experiencing things in your life that feel unsafe or unknown, challenging, saddening, perhaps scary. Maybe you have experiences in the past that you want to explore and understand more.
Whatever reasons have brought you to seek a counsellor, taking this initial step is courageous, yet can often feel daunting and it is important to find a counsellor who you feel comfortable with to support you on that journey. I am able to work alongside you either face to face, online or over the telephone.
Talking Therapy
I provide a space for you to be emotionally held and heard, to talk with privacy and confidentiality, a space where you will be met with unconditional positive regard and without judgement. Often, we can feel inhibited to talk with loved ones, family members or friends, because they are so involved with us on a personal level and can often, unknowingly, offer opinions or judgements that are unhelpful. We can feel like we are burdening our loved ones with our problems.
To talk with somebody impartial can ease those kind of worries and I offer a calm space for you to voice and explore your internal world. To acknowledge, recognise and challenge personal difficulties in a safe and empathetic way.
Creative Therapy (ie; sandplay)
This can offer a new dimension in supporting both children and adults alike. Facilitating a new dimension for you, if you feel particularly 'stuck' or are have difficulty in finding the words to express the feelings that you experience inside. This can provide a gentle and organic way for you to discover and recognise deeper, more unconscious internal processes, that can affect your conscious thoughts, offering you greater understanding and clarity.
Both therapies work beautifully in their own right or can be integrated, where perhaps we may feel 'stuck' in recognising our emotions or experiences.
I am also Human!
Putting my qualifications aside, whilst I am skilled in the field of counselling, I experience life's challenges and I'm on this journey just as you are. I know it can be tough, and often it can feel like a roller-coaster ride.
It is my own experiences and humanity alongside my skillset, that enable me to be present and non-judgmental with my clients. Along with my 20 years of experience of working with children and adults, it is also this that enables me to bring a safe, open and personal approach to my counselling work.
I appreciate how difficult it can be to make that initial contact and how important it is, that the relationship feels comfortable and safe. I am happy to receive any enquiries by phone, text or email and will do my best to answer any questions that you may have to reassure you within 24 hours.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
