About me
I believe that with the right support, environment and tools, we can all thrive and reach our personal potential. I believe that we all deserve a life worth living and I aim to work with clients to help them achieve this and remove any barriers to living a fulfilling life. I believe that we all have the knowledge and capacity within ourselves to heal ourselves, and it is the role of the therapist to foster and nurture this innate tendency.
My Approach
I’m passionate about helping people get to know themselves and work out what is the best way for them to live their most authentic life. I do this by offering a space for you to explore yourself, and the way you show up in the world, enabling you to trust your own instincts and become more empowered. Sometimes it takes time to trust someone to open yourself up to, I will provide a safe warm, non-judgemental and confidential space for us to explore together. I am a professional, fully-qualified counsellor originally trained in the person centred approach. I have experience and training in CBT, transactional analysis and psychodynamic therapy. I also have a Masters degree in Psychology and enjoy incorporating psychoeducation into my work. I work in an integrative way depending on your needs and preferences.
I believe that we are all conditioned from our upbringing and experiences and sometimes this can lead to problems in how we experience ourselves in the present, particularly in relationships. Through therapy, we can become aware of these patterns and start to experiment with new ways of being.
Where it all started
I grew up in a Christian household in Northern Ireland, an environment which I feel fostered my spiritual side and instilled in me values of love, peace and kindness. At the same time, the dogma of the religion created a rebellious yearning in me to question existing structures and norms.
I previously worked as a secondary school teacher and felt myself naturally drawn away from the academics and towards pastoral care, wanting to teach and foster wellbeing, emotional education and resilience. I followed my curiosity towards an evening class in counselling skills and knew immediately that I was here to help people understand themselves and support them on their journey. I eventually enrolled in a Diploma in Person-centred counselling and have been working with adults and young people therapeutically since 2018.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
