About me

You want the right counsellor. Let's get to the point. You're tired of the same cycle. You're excited to start with a fresh new slate, but you also know it means having to address some difficult chapters. You wonder if you will ever get married, that promotion will ever show itself, find joy in the mundane, anxiety or depressed feeling will ever go away or be freed from the worries you felt enslaved to your entire life.

Life can see different seasons of difficulty. Perhaps it's not a season and you have recognised a pattern in your life and you are just tired of seeing that same old result and want to explore what's been happening. Sometimes things happen and you wonder whether it has always been this way or if there is something more you cannot see. You wonder if you have depression or anxiety. Sometimes life happens so quickly, that we don't even understand how we got to the point we have reached. You're pretty tired with where things have been going.

Finding a therapist can be a daunting task. One of my priorities is to ensure you feel comfortable and safe to be able to share your story confidentially and feel no judgment. You don't want to waste time and neither do I want to waste yours.

Counselling can be a space to process and reflect as we take the time to take care of ourselves. It ultimately is an investment for the future that you want to hold and a way forward from past pain.

My office is based within walking distance from Croxley tube station. My office has been intentionally and stylishly designed for 'Me' time. Coffee, tea or water is provided so you do not have to rush to get your drink before session. There is a cafe nearby should you desire some other bites or drinks. There is also parking available on site. It's time for self-investment so I will take that seriously too. I also understand if it is difficult for you to leave your home for personal or scheduling reasons, difficulty finding a childminder or do not have a counsellor near your home for which I offer online video counselling. Please email for further information.

Experience

My training included a BA(Hons) in a BACP accredited course, ensuring quality and accountability training. My counselling experience has included working within a counselling agency as well as having my own private practice. I have worked with both individuals and couples.

I have a diverse work experience which has aided me positively in being able to work with a diverse clientele. I regularly take part in ongoing CPD courses which form part of my continual professional development.

I cover many topics, but within these, I have a special interest in depression, anxiety, women's issues, maternal mental health, relationship issues, cultural issues and spirituality. As a New Yorker living here, I am also able to help with expat/repat topics such as, transitioning into a new culture, missing home, and cultural identity. Having a diverse cultural background myself and having worked in two of the most diverse cities in the world, New York and London, I am familiar with different cultural identity issues. In New York, I worked with young persons and adults in the Korean American community, who were dealing with difficulties/conflict with their parents stemming from cultural differences.

Please see the list for all the topics I work with.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
