About me

🌟 Im currently available to take on new clients 🌟 (adults or older children / teenagers) who want to work on any issues they may be facing and would like someone to help them process their thoughts, feelings and emotions around these things.

I offer a calming and supportive person centred counselling style meaning whatever you bring to the table is what we will work on together during our sessions. I feel sometimes talking to someone we don’t know can be easier than talking to those closest to us.

I would say my specialism is working with children and adults who have experienced trauma. This may be unresolved from childhood or a more current issue. It could be affecting attachments and relationships or causing anxiety, stress or depression and is something they feel ready to process with a safe and trusted person.

Therapy doesn't have to be overwhelming, we can go at the pace you feel comfortable with. I feel like the natural human connection with someone who genuinely cares and listens is where the real progress and self awareness happens during the therapy process.

I qualified from the Northern Guild of counselling and Psychotherapy in 2015 as a Psychotherapeutic counsellor and I have worked in private practice, schools and local charities providing one on one counselling services. I have worked with children, teenagers and adults.

If you’re looking for a non judgmental, grounded and nurturing environment to discuss anything then I would be happy to help.

A free (20 minute) initial assessment will take place to identify your needs. Alternatively I’m happy to have a chat over email.  Reviews take place at six week intervals to make sure the needs of the initial assessment are being met.

Sessions last for 50 minutes and can be done over the phone or Microsoft teams. Walk and talk therapy is also available locally (clients would need to be able to travel to Teesside) rate per session is £50.

Please feel free to send an email or message if you have any queries.

I have an enhanced DBS certificate (children and adults) on the update service and I am a registered member of the BACP.

I qualified as a child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counsellor in 2015 at the northern guild of Psychotherapy and have worked with children, teenagers and young adults in schools, GP surgeries, charities and in my own private practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
