Emma Roberts Registered MBACP (Accred)
Counselling really can bring about positive changes in your life. Clients come to counselling with a range of problems. These include relationship difficulties, problems with work, anxiety, depression, bereavement and drug or alcohol problems.
At first feelings may seem overwhelming. Through counselling clients can learn more about themselves and explore the way they view the world. This can bring about positive changes in their lives and lead to significant personal growth.
I am a Person Centred counsellor and supervisor. My approach is to offer clients a safe place to explore their feelings and help them find a way forward without judging or advising them. I may, on occasions, provide information or offer suggestions. I adapt my way of working to meet the needs of the individual.
In my private practice I work from home in a quiet location in Aston Clinton. My practice is easily accessible from the A41 and there is ample parking.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Foundation Degree in Person Centred Counselling (Level 5) and a Certificate in Counselling Skills (Level 3). In addition I have a BA (Hons) degree and a range of post graduate qualifications. My background is in education.
As part of my on going professional development, I have undergone training in a variety of fields including bereavement, childhood abuse, anxiety and anger management.
My experience includes work in a youth counselling agency and the counselling service for a training provider for young people with learning difficulties. I also have extensive experience of working with adults and people whose first language is not English.
I am a Registered and Accredited Member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and abide by their code of ethics. I have obtained the BACP Certificate of Proficiency. I have regular supervision and hold an enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Certificate.
I hold a post graduate certificate in clinical supervision.

Supervision & training
I hold a post graduate certificate in clinical supervision and am a supervisor in a youth counselling agency. I believe in a collaborative approach and focus on building a strong working alliance with my supervisees. As a person centred supervisor, I believe in creating a safe space for counsellors to reflect, challenge themselves and recognise what they do well. .
