About me
Therapy is a time dedicated for you to practise being with you. Through offering a place for sustained reflection, therapy offers the chance to make meaning and ultimately shifts in your own life.
I see my role as a therapist as a supportive collaborator in the process of being with where you are in the story of your life. However you find yourself, I can meet you there through offering you a different type of listening to that which you might receive from friends, which reveals what otherwise can go unheard, unseen or unfelt.
Together, we can explore the patterns and themes that weave through your life narrative - supporting you to recognise and attend to your most authentic self, while also fostering your own internal strength.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified integrative therapist with a Diploma from one of Europe’s foremost institutes for integrative counselling and psychotherapy, The Minster Centre.
I am also completing an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy at The Minster Centre.
I am BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered (MBACP) and I am bound by the BACP Code of Ethics.
During training, I was required to undertake highly supervised clinical work and placements in counselling and mental health services. This experience means I have had the privilege of working with a number of presenting issues with people from many walks of life, and of many ages.
I am fully insured and my work is regularly supervised.
Previous academic qualifications: Psychology M.A.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Individual sessions (50 minutes):
Once we find a suitable time slot, I will hold this for you on a weekly basis. Having consistent sessions is an important aspect of therapy providing the structure and continuity to support you to get the most out of it. I don’t offer ad hoc sessions, nor fortnightly sessions.
Initial meeting
An initial meeting will allow us to meet in person and talk about what brought you to therapy, and any questions about the process itself. Importantly, you will have the opportunity to experience what I am like to see if we are a good fit.
Concessionary rates
I am committed to providing accessible therapy and offer a limited number of low-cost spots for people on lower incomes. Please enquire about these if you feel you cannot afford the full rate.

My Approach:
As an integrative therapist, I draw upon a range of approaches which consider different aspects of the human experience - from existential philosophy to psychoanalytic theory and neuroscience. I continue to integrate new ideas into my work on an ongoing basis - adapting my approach to the each client.
I am particularly influenced by:
Embodied practices: I see the body as a place of possibility from which change may arise. Our emotional history can be understood to be embedded in our body, and it is through forging a deeper relationship with our body that we gain a greater awareness of ourselves. Together, we can explore your body’s reaction to a certain life situation - allowing a physical sensation to lead the conversation. Through building a relationship with your body, we might create more internal space to support you to navigate more smoothly through life.
Attachment theory: I draw on how childhood experiences and early relationships may have shaped the way you relate to yourself as well as other people in your life. You will be invited to get curious about your own relational patterns, gifting yourself the type of self-awareness to support you to have the type of relationships you want in your life.
Relational: I believe that how we interact together within the therapeutic relationship as it unfolds in the present is key to the work. We might reflect on this to support your growth outside of the therapy space.
I hold an awareness of the importance of differences which make up an individual - keeping in mind how class, sexual orientations, gender or race make up your experience.
I also welcome a creative approach to the work and encourage my clients to bring materials, such as poems, drawings, journals or dreams, which may support you to share your full experience.
