About me
A warm welcome to my profile. My name is Emma and I am the founder of Autumn Leaves Psychotherapy.
You will find Autumn Leaves Psychotherapy nestled away in a very quiet, picturesque and tranquil location, in the heart of beautiful Kingswood village. Easily accessible by train, bus and only a 2 minute drive from the A217.
I am a fully qualified and experienced child and adolescent psychotherapist. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults at St Thomas' Hospital, The Evalina Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. I have also set up a psychotherapy practice at a large inner London primary school.
I have successfully treated cases of self harm, low self esteem, attachment difficulties, severe anxiety, bereavement, trauma, chronic illness, school refusal, anger, depression, behavioural difficulties, autism and ADHD.
I am a sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful psychotherapist. I have been through many years of training and clinical experience. I have also had psychotherapy myself. So I haven't just read books, I have done the real work. This matters because being a psychotherapist is about integrity, self knowledge, insight and professionalism.
I am also qualified to work with adults, my model would be psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thinking. I can support you with depression, childhood trauma and postnatal and prenatal depression.
I believe that no therapeutic journey is the same and this is why I really listen and think carefully with you about what you need and how the treatment plan might evolve over time. I understand the courage it takes for you, your child or adolescent to embark on a therapeutic journey and I promise to be a dedicated support through this.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
