About me

A warm welcome.   Anxiety is the main cause of restlessness, worry and fear about everyday situations.  I guess if you are reading this, you may be feeling overwhelmed, lost, confused and in need of some support.  I can offer you a warm spiritual approach, with an empathetic listening ear and a confidential, non-judgemental space to work within.  The counselling journey can be a catalyst for positive change and improved relationships.  I am passionate about helping people reach their potential, so they can feel valued and understood, finding the courage to become the best version of themselves.

I am a fully qualified, BACP Accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor offering daytime or evening counselling sessions.  I work mindfully and professionally within the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy and attend regular clinical supervision and am committed to continued professional development.

My counselling experience includes working with a range of clients including Adults, Older Adults and Young People in Private Practice.   I am also a qualified Life coach.

I have experience working with Young People and University Students.  I have worked as a Volunteer Mentor for Herts County Council working with young people and as a Volunteer Support Worker, helping victims of crime and trauma.  I am currently working as a Volunteer Mentor for the Counselling Foundation working with Students.

I offer short-term or long-term individual therapy face to face, by telephone or Online (zoom).  Once initial contact has been made, we can arrange a convenient time to set up an Initial Consultation to explore the reasons that brought you to counselling and your expectations of how we may work together.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
