About me

Taking the first step to find a therapist can be daunting, especially when life is particularly hard.

I feel passionately about creating a counselling space which is confidential, supportive and incredibly personal. A space for you to explore your issues and emotions and to make the positive changes you're striving for.

I'm a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, offering face to face, online and telephone therapy.

I work with adult clients in a Person Centred way, which means I create an empathic, none-judgemental space for you to explore whatever issues you want to focus on.

I work with clients face-face out of a private room on the outskirts of Sevenoaks (Kent) in a beautiful rural setting with lots of on-site free parking. If you would rather work online or over the telephone, I offer both of those options to clients across the UK.

I have experience of working with trauma, addiction, relationship issues, loneliness, grief, menopause anxiety, stress, financial worries and with those clients in need of support around self-esteem and workplace issues.

As a registered member of the BACP, I'm committed to working with clients ethically and safely. I'm fully insured and hold a current DBS certificate.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Initial Chat

I offer a free of charge 20-minute phone consultation to every new client. This is your chance to suss me out and to explore if the way in which I work, suits the way in which you want to approach your personal therapy sessions.

The Sessions

Each therapeutic session lasts for 50 minutes and costs £60. Each client is different, but often we agree to work together for six to eight sessions. Over those six to eight weeks we review and, if appropriate, consider the opportunity to move into open-ended therapeutic work.

Next Steps

Some clients want to move into open-ended therapeutic work. For others, six-eight sessions feels enough for the moment. In some cases we agree a more specialist form of therapy would be useful and we work together to look at all the options. Everyone is unique and I'm there to support each client's individual needs.
