About me

Emma is a counsellor based in Whitstable. She has a wide range of experience and offers a non judgemental and safe place for you to work in. She's a Registered Member of the BACP and adheres to their ethical framework.

If you are interested in meeting with her she offers a 50 minute initial Assessment session for £30. This gives you the opportunity to meet her and decide if you wish to proceed with further sessions and it gives Emma the opportunity to identify what brings you to therapy.

From here your fees are negotiable based on your salary. These range from £40-£60 per hour. You can contact her via here or call Evolution Health to make an appointment.

She has worked privately for a number of years and previously worked for charities in a voluntary role.

The Humanistic Approach:

Humanistic Counselling emphasises the need for empathy. It's aim is to assist the client to develop a stronger, healthier sense of self. As well as uncovering and understanding their feelings to help them gain a sense of meaning to their world.

Humanistic Philosophy

Emma truly believes that despite the various difficulties we may experience in life, every individual has the natural  ability to realise their potential. It is also important for her to have an equal relationship with her clients that Humanistic theory promotes.

Panic attacks, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post traumatic Stress Disorder.


Post/Pre Natal Depression, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Loneliness and Isolation.


Families, Romantic relationships, Friendships, Divorce and Relationship Breakdown.


Feeling Overwhelmed, Irritable or Angry. Situational stress, Career concerns.


Adjusting to life with a newborn, Parenting Styles and Behavioural Concerns, Relationship with children and your family, Loneliness and Isolation in pregnancy and post partum. Difficulties conceiving.

Eating Disorders:

Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia and Anorexia.

British Empire Medal (BEM) for time dedicated to voluntary counselling in the local community and a creation of a mental health network in her workplace.

£40-60 per session

Emma offers a sliding scale and is happy to negotiate her fees depending on your financial circumstances.


Each session is 50 minutes. She can work short term (8 weeks) or long term and can also offer 2 sessions per week if required.

She works Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Evening sessions are held at  6pm or 7pm.

Saturday morning sessions run from 9am, 10am, 11am and 12pm..

First Session:

Your first session is £30 and will spend time completing an Assessment on what brings you to therapy.


Client's will be charged for any cancellations where 24hrs is not given. This does not include sessions previously rescheduled or unexpected illness.


Parking is available on site. Alternatively it is a few minutes walk from bus stops coming from Canterbury and Herne Bay on Borstal Hill. It is approximately a 20 minute walk from Whitstable Train Station.
