About me

Hello, thank you for taking the time to consider me as your therapist. I am a BACP registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist which means I am registered with a professional body.

I am integrative which means I use a range of therapies to find the best fit for you. Some of the therapies I work with include: Person-Centred therapy, Psychodynamic therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I aim to work alongside you to develop a genuine, non-judgemental and safe space where you can help to understand yourself better including your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and help you make positive changes to develop you.

I feel therapy should be adapted to suit you as a person as we are all different in what we need. As we work together I may ask for your ideas of which parts of the therapy you are resonating with and which parts you may be struggling with, so that we can learn to help you in your journey.

I use various different tools in my work to find what works for you. I really look forward to hearing from you, as I know how nerve-wracking it can be making that first step to requesting a session. Please reach out to me to book a free initial 15-minute chat to ask any questions you may have about therapy and to see if we may work well together.

In your first session, we will explore the parts of your life that have led you to therapy and decide the most appropriate way forward for you. You may be thinking about making some changes or you may want to develop acceptance for something that you may be unable to change. I will offer empathy and be open about our work to help you build trust, develop self-awareness and personal growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
