Emma Boyce MBACP, BA (hons), Dip Couns.
I work in a Person-Centred way. I offer a safe and confidential space to talk about anything that concerns you. It could be something that seems huge, perhaps scary and maybe something that you don't want to talk to other people about or it may be a small thing that is on your mind. I'm happy to hear whatever you have to say. I will try to see it from your perspective and to understand your experience. I want to stand by your side. I don't believe that I can solve your problems for you, but I do believe that I can be with you through difficult things and that I am able to offer support whilst you find the answers that are best for you. It is my experience that given the right conditions and support anyone can find their own answers and a way to healing or whatever it is you are looking for.
If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, are having relationship issues or are simply not feeling ok talking to someone can often help.
If you are wondering if counselling is for you, or if you will feel ok with me, I offer a free initial session where we can meet and talk in a relaxed way about what you want and how I can support you. There is no obligation to book further sessions and it's up to you how many you have, from one or two to an unlimited amount, and how often we meet.
I also work with children and young people of all ages, often through art or play, depending on the needs and desires of the young person. I have worked with Penhaligon's Friends who are a charity who help children who have suffered bereavement. I currently work in a local primary school, working with children on many different issues including anger, friendship difficulties and anxiety. I have experience of working with children with learning disabilities and autism and physical health problems in another job role.
I have experience working with students studying to be counsellors and believe I can offer a useful space whether you feel a need for counselling or not.
I currently work in the Newquay, Padstow, St Austell, Bodmin, Liskeard and Plymouth areas but will travel all over Cornwall and into Devon. Call me if you want to know if I will come to you. I have access to suitable rooms in most towns and will find one if I don't know of one already.
I offer counselling by video calling too.
I offer Person-Centred supervision all over Cornwall. I have worked with students and qualified counsellors. It is my belief that you are the expert on your relationship with your client and that it is my job to help you explore how the two of you relate and how you would like to move forward. I offer my eyes as a second pair, perhaps to offer a wider view or more possibilities. I believe it is my job to meet your supervision need in a way that is useful to you to enable you to meet the therapeutic needs of your clients.
I am happy to offer group supervision to groups of up to four counsellors/students.
I offer supervision by video calling too. Telephone calling may be possible.
