About me

I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor working in a person-centred and relational way.  I provide a safe and supportive space where you can discover more about yourself and your situation in an environment where you feel heard, accepted and understood without judgement.  I can help to facilitate your own journey of self discovery and I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship can help you towards healing and growth.  I bring the principles of empathy, unconditional positive regard and authenticity into every session and this helps to create a supportive and genuine environment where you can truly be yourself, whilst developing inner strength and resources, helping you to feel better able to navigate the complexities of life.  Whether you are feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, confused, sad, angry or any other range of emotion, or finding things difficult at the moment, you can find a way through and discover what is going on for you and how you can move forwards. Sometimes we have to go backwards to move forwards and together we can create a space where you can find some peace and resolve, making your life more manageable at a pace that suits you.

I have a diploma in therapeutic counselling and have years of experience working in mental health. I work in a dedicated counselling practice in Poole and a treatment room in Ashely Heath, Hampshire offering face to face appointments.

Coming to counselling can be daunting and not always accessible so I also offer online sessions which can be accessed anywhere on your device. It is important that during these sessions you are somewhere confidential and free from disturbances so you can get the most from our time together.

I specialise in working with people with anxiety, addiction and neurodivergence. I also work with depression, loss and trauma. I am fully supervised and committed to continued professional development. I believe we are all on a continual path of learning and growing so we can join together as you start your counselling journey with me.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

I also have:

  • Level 2 counselling skills
  • Level 3 counselling studies
  • Level 2 SEND
  • Level 2 safeguarding

I have worked in the mental health field for many years which led to me training to be a counsellor. I participate in regular online training and have lived experience of neurodivergence.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
