About me
You never really understand a person until you consider things from their point of view. Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.'
- To Kill a Mockingbird
I am a Trauma Focused and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor trained in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Person Centred Counselling.
Life can be hard going at times, lonely, scary and not make sense. Often when we are in the midst of pain we can’t see outside of it so we need a neutral voice giving insight and input into our blind spots, challenging us, providing a listening ear, giving us techniques to help manage the pain while working through it.
My therapeutic approach
Is one of warmth, empathy, understanding and often with some humour. I will be sensitive to your needs and processes, all while we work together towards the healing, change and growth you want to see in your life. I will work with you through what you’re facing whether that be trauma, pain, loss, hindrances or obstacles while also examining your view of yourself, others and the world. This may include beliefs like 'I'm not good enough', 'I can't trust anyone', 'the world/ life is not fair.’ Our beliefs at some point in our lives have helped to keep us safe and stopped us from giving up, but all too often as we grow up into adulthood these beliefs start to put a strain on our lives and our relationships.
As a therapist
I have a passion to come alongside people to hear their story and see what has led them to this point in their life; to support them in their life struggles and to see them become the best version of themselves so they can live life in its fullness rather than just existing and change the direction generations ahead of them will take. Let’s rewrite your story.
Professionally
I receive monthly clinical supervision, attend regular Continuous Professional Development and I am fully insured. I also have a current DBS check and am a Registered Member of BACP.

I see the impact that all issues can have on our own mental health and in our relationships.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
