About me
I'm a registered Integrative counsellor specialising in working with loss in all its forms; including bereavement support after the death of a loved one, relationship problems and breakdown, divorce and separation, job loss, perinatal loss (stillbirth, neonatal loss, miscarriage), living with a chronic health condition or caring for someone who has one, and even the loss of identity or self-esteem.
I have a special interest in supporting both neurodivergent and neurotypical adults to process the pain of the loss, however that may feel.
You maybe feeling sad, anxious, angry, guilty or simply confused and stuck. I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space to listen to you and explore, at your pace what has brought you to where you are now in your life.
The loss you have experienced may have negatively affected how you feel about yourself and as such your ability to manage your life. It may have negatively impacted other relationships leaving you feeling lonely and isolated.
I offer in-person and online counselling
- In-person counselling takes place in easily accessible therapy rooms in Rickmansworth and Northwood.
- Online sessions are on Zoom.
My background
Prior to training as a counsellor, I practiced as a Family Law barrister. During my time in the legal profession I spent much of my time sitting outside courts prior to being called in - providing emotional support to clients who often felt fearful and alone. I came to realise that while the legal system offers practical solutions, so many people also need emotional support, time to process and reflect on the changes that have happened in their lives.
In conjunction with my therapeutic private practice, I'm a PAT (Pets as Therapy) volunteer with my dog, Amber. We attend mental health days for various local establishments which we hope enhances the emotional wellbeing of all we meet.
I have also volunteered at Watford Women's Centre, Bereavement Care and Support Through Court.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
