Emily Ramage MBACP
Hello I am Emily, a full-time Counsellor, who is qualified and is an avid advocate of emotional and psychological wellbeing. I have a relaxed approach to my sessions with a safe and caring style, which in turn aims to support the client in understanding their experiences, helping to develop a personalised tool kit to enhance quality of life and self-worth, allowing my clients to deal with events in the future, giving themselves a better insight.
My core approach to therapy is person-centred. This style of counselling is non-directive and puts the client at the heart of the therapeutic process and lets clients set their own speed. This allows clients to feel more at ease by setting it at a pace they are comfortable with. Through a therapeutic relationship based on confidentiality and mutual respect in the sessions, I will provide a warm, welcoming and non-judgmental space to explore difficult beliefs or state of mind that may be difficult and at times extremely painful.
The emphasis of our work is to make available a safe space allowing you to talk about all issues be they historical or current, those which may be affecting the way in which clients carry out their everyday lives which causes stress, anxiety and also fixed in this pattern of thought. Having counselling can enable you to make small changes and for these changes to build into positive changes, allowing for progression.
To make the first step contact myself via email, phone, text. we can then set up an initial session, where we can discuss what you would like to get from counselling and if after the initial appointment you wish to continue we can book further appointments. Working together at a pace/time that will work for yourself.
I will work at the pace of my clients and with what you bring to the sessions. I have experience in mental health, working in childcare settings and children’s homes this includes the managing and running of both settings.
I also have experience working for charitable organisations, private practise and I work with a series of issues including bullying, bereavement, confidence, depression, self-esteem and relationship difficulties.
I am registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their ethical framework for good practise in psychotherapy and counselling professions. I am committed to furthering her professional development.
