About me

Hi, thank you for reading a bit about me, I look forward to speaking further to learn about how we can best work together.

My name is Emily, I am passionate about helping and guiding people to feel their absolute best. We all deserve to feel happy, fulfilled and heard in life, and sometimes that means working through some 'clunky' bits in life with a therapist to get us there.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced qualified and certified Counsellor/Therapist, Coaching and Therapeutic Coach.

I have held hundreds of sessions in person and online.

I have trained in person-centred counselling, solution-focused therapy, and transactional analysis therapy. Coaching-wise, I support people as a mindset coach and wellness coach, covering areas such as, motivation, personal development, organisation, career coaching and wellness improvement.

I often to go into corporate spaces too, holding talks and group trainings around coaching topics, such as 'working through limiting beliefs', 'leading a more positive life', 'boosting confidence' etc.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

As a person centred counsellor, I work with the person not the diagnosis. Please reach out to me and we can speak further to see if we are a good fit. I have helped people through a wide range of issues.

I also work as a Yoga and meditation teacher so can add in mindfulness upon request. I have a very intuitive style of therapy, so draw in different modalities depending on the individual client needs.

For five years I have also worked as a Doula (pregnancy, birth and postnatal), so and well experienced in supporting women and their families through this precious time of life.

When I work

Once we have had a chat, we will speak about a regular time each weeks that works for you.

Further information

I normally see clients between 6 and 12 sessions. For coaching 12 feels like a good number of sessions to reach towards, after three months (ish), you should have the tools to take with you to feel confident in not needing weekly check ins.

For therapy we also work towards not needing more that 12, however, if you are working through some 'past' difficulties, it may be that you require more sessions than 12. My goal is always to leave you feeling empowered to get back to life without my support, but I won't turn you down if you feel like you need longer with my support. We have a closing session by session 11 and make the judgment together.
