Hi, and a warm welcome.
Do you want to heal from feelings like anxiety, depression or anger, or to grow in self-esteem enjoyment, and meaning in life? I can provide a caring, insightful and practical relationship to help you with this.
Counselling can be a helpful, at times life-changing, experience and research backs this up. It can help with how you feel, think and experience all areas of your life such as: work, family, romantic relationships, friendships, and of course your relationship with yourself.
I offer different approaches for people at different times, as I believe that ultimately you know yourself best and what is working or helping you. Examples: a technique for managing anxiety, a perspective on relationship patterns, or simply listening and compassionate understanding for an experience of loss.
I integrate several types of therapy to best suit the issues people bring into the therapy room, mainly: the Person-Centred approach - offering you empathy, acceptance, and genuinely caring about what you’re going through in a professional way; Cognitive therapy with behavioural techniques - exploring how your thoughts, feelings and your behaviour can affect each other; and Psychodynamic therapy - how your past may have affected your present, even within the counselling room.
Feel free to ask any questions and let me know how you feel about this at any time, as it is important that it is your choice what you talk about as well as when and how you talk about it.
The first step of contacting a counsellor can take courage so I will be glad to hear from you, and we can then arrange a first session to explore working together.
