Tyne And Wear
Hi I'm Emily, thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. I trained in a person centered approach completing my Foundation Degree and then my BA (Hons). My focus as your counsellor is on our relationship as I feel this is paramount to helping you on your journey . I will provide a safe, none judgmental, empathetic space for you to explore your feelings at a pace that is right for you.
During my training to become a counsellor I volunteered with a number of organisations. I worked with Place2Be for over three years in a school setting working with children. North East Counselling Services based in Sunderand working with adults and Sunderland CCAMHS (The Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) working with children and families.
I have practiced for the last 5 years working in primary and secondary schools. During this time I have worked with children, adolescents, parents and families. I have worked with a wide range of issues including bereavement, family illness, domestic violence, relationship issues, low self-esteem, sexual abuse, trauma, children and adolescents in the care system, low mood, anxiety, depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, exam pressure and many more.
I am more than happy to have a chat over the phone if you have any questions or worries about starting your counselling journey. I feel that you have bravely taken the first steps by admitting you may need some support and by looking here for help. If you feel I'm the right person to give you the support you need, please contact me. If I am unable to take your call, I will always get back in touch as soon as I am able.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I hope to hear from you in the very near future.
