About me
Hello, I’m Emily. I believe in an empathetic and integrative approach to counselling that supports individuals of all ages. My passion lies in working with children and young people, specifically those aged 5 to 24. With a Master’s Degree focused on this age group, I also work with adults and can support them in their mental health.
I’m also a registered member of the BACP.
Having spent many years in a school setting, I have witnessed children and young people's unique challenges. I’ve had the privilege of working within a social and emotional mental health provision, where I supported children in navigating their emotions and learning to regulate themselves. In our time together in the therapy room, I draw upon various methods, including creative techniques, CBT, and psychotherapy, all while ensuring that person-centred therapy remains at the core of our work. I aim to create a safe and nurturing environment where every young person feels understood and valued.
I am deeply committed to the well-being and welfare of all who I work with, embracing a person-centred approach emphasising active listening and collaboration. It is incredibly rewarding to be able to witness the positive changes in young people's lives. However, I am also acutely aware of the growing challenges many face, particularly concerning mental health issues.
At Hear for Youth, I provide a supportive and nurturing private service, offering one-to-one therapy for those seeking help. As an integrative practitioner, I draw on various therapeutic modalities to ensure that each young person receives the care and support that best suits their needs. Together, we create a safe space for healing and growth.
I am dedicated to offering compassionate, creative, and inclusive counselling that is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of your child, a young person in your life, or even yourself. It’s not always easy to navigate the challenges of life, and I’m here to provide a safe and nurturing space where you can explore your feelings and concerns. If you're feeling overwhelmed or struggling with the pressures around you, please know that you're not alone. I’m here to listen with empathy and understanding, offering support without any judgment.
I am based in Northampton but am happy to support young people across the country. I am currently offering online sessions.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have and provide you with all the details you need.
Why Choose Integrative Counselling
Integrative therapy weaves together various techniques to meet the unique needs of each individual. It acknowledges that a multitude of factors influence mental health and embraces approaches like play therapy, art therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioural therapy to tailor interventions with care.
The goal is to nurture coping skills and enhance communication, ultimately fostering resilience in children facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or behavioural issues. This approach emphasises collaboration between the therapist and the child or young person, creating a supportive and nurturing environment that truly encourages healing and personal growth.
Why Choose Me
Selecting the right practitioner for your child or young person can feel daunting, and I truly understand how important this decision is for you and your family. I am here to listen to your concerns and worries with empathy, and there is no pressure or obligation. My top priority is finding the right support for you or your young person.
With over 12 years of experience working with children and young people, I have gained valuable insights through my roles in primary and secondary schools. My journey began in primary school and focused on social and emotional mental health, and I decided to transition into counselling because I felt a profound call to provide deeper support for children and young people. I aim to create a safe and nurturing space where they can heal, grow, and gain valuable insights into their feelings and experiences. The well-being of the student is at the heart of everything I do.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
