The Therapy Suite
I am a specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist based at the Therapy Suite in Bungay, Suffolk and hold full accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), which means that I am appropriately qualified to deliver high quality Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Training, qualifications & experience
BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.
I have worked in mental health services for the last 12 years and understand that coming to see a therapist for the first time can feel daunting. I work in a non-judgemental, transparent and compassionate way to provide face to face CBT specialist assessments and treatments for clients (18+) across a range of problems for which CBT has been scientifically proven to be an effective therapy.
I have particular interest and specialist experience in working with eating disorders, a topic in which I have had the opportunity to complete research on. The findings of this research can be seen in a recent publication (see link below), which highlights the effective role of improved education and understanding about eating as part of the recovery journey:
I have also been involved in a clinical trial with the University of East Anglia, which aims to individualise CBT therapy for late life depression by making it age-appropriate for the 60+ client group. A key emphasis is placed on using age appropriate CBT techniques as well as appreciating the importance of valuing an individual's life experience (lifeskills) in helping them manage their difficulties.

Standard appointment fee is £65 for 50 minutes.
I ask potential clients to attend an initial consultation before committing to regular appointments. This initial consultation will be an opportunity for us to meet, learn about your difficulties, agree some goals and explain how CBT works. We can then work together to understand your own strengths and find effective ways to help you move forward and meet your well-being needs as quickly as possible. CBT will be tailored to your needs and if appropriate it may be complemented with ideas from other psychological approaches (i.e. Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, psychodynamic approach, and mindfulness). This first appointment can last up to 90 minutes and the fee is £95.
I see all clients at The Therapy Suite - a dedicated psychology service located within the private and tranquil grounds of Earsham Hall. There is ample free parking on site, and the tea rooms nearby offer a space to reflect either before or after your appointment.
I work with a small team of therapists and psychologists at The Therapy Suite, and our aim is to make it as easy as possible for clients to undertake psychological therapy. We believe that it is easier to start therapy if you feel reassured, comfortable and in an attractive environment. Therefore at The Therapy Suite we have highly qualified professionals, offering a range of therapies at a reasonable rate, within a setting that is inviting and comfortable, whilst reassuringly professional.
