About me
I believe in everyone having their own inner compass but we often struggle to access this innate wisdom without a sense of wholehearted acceptance and authenticity enveloping us. This is the nurturing space I endeavour to create with you in order to support compassionate and brave self-inquiry. To find your way back to yourself wholly.
I am passionate about working in green spaces - weaving outer nature in as reflections of our inner nature. I am fortunate to have some land to work on that ensures privacy just a ten minute walk outside of Totnes along the Sharpham path. We can choose to walk and talk, light a fire under the trees or sit on top of the hill looking out over the view to gain some wider perspectives on it all. I have an outdoor shelter for rainy days or a room in town as back up should weather be too disruptive.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have trained as an Integrative Counsellor as such I respond to needs as they arise by bringing different ways of working - person-centered, body processing, inner child work and nature connection. I have most experience working with trauma, especially exploring gently how trauma can be held in the body manifesting as illness or holding us back from embodying our richest potential.

Further information
I have been a medical doctor for 15 years and am passionate about social justice, societal and global-level trauma healing. Following years working abroad in under-resourced parts of the world, I currently work part-time as a GP in an area of high deprivation in Plymouth. I hold Trauma-Informed workshops for healthcare professionals advocating for system-wide culture change. I have a wealth of experience working with illnesses where the cause is uncertain, medically unexplained symptoms, autoimmune conditions, cancer, chronic pain, endometriosis and IBS.
Inspired by the work of Dr Gabor Maté, I have learned how raising awareness of our wounds can unlock clues into better understanding our disease processes - trauma healing and navigating possible routes towards optimised wellness often then go hand in hand.
As a therapist I leave the role of the doctor very consciously making no medical suggestions, diagnoses or management plans. I hold space for you and, if feeling fragmented, all your parts are welcome ~ I softly challenge where felt to be helpful ~ I offer perspectives that are informed by my personal and professional experiences and together we can navigate through for greater insight and balance.
