About me

Hello and welcome!

Are you looking to make a change? You may not know where to start, but that’s ok. We can work it out together. Counselling and psychotherapy is not about giving advice, it is about exploring problems together to allow for change. The fact that you've made the decision to talk to someone is the first step to change. Whatever you're situation might be, trying to find the right person to talk to can seem like a daunting task.

I can offer you a space that is confidential, supportive, warm and free of judgement to help you explore what is going on for you or causing you problems. By building a trusting relationship and working together we can help you to feel more safe, access your resources and bring possibilities into your awareness. My main aim is to raise a greater awareness and understanding of yourself and to help reduce current conflicts. I am dedicated to supporting you with personal development and growth and to help you move towards your goal.

I have been working therapeutically with vulnerable individuals and groups for the past 10 years. Within this I have supported individual’s with issues such as depression, anxiety, low self esteem, addictions, trauma, relationship and attachment issues, shame and bereavement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
