About me

Talking to a counsellor can help you to feel listened to and understood. It affords you an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential and non-judgemental setting. Counselling can help you to make sense of your past, re-evaluate your present and conceptualise a future you can look forward to and work towards.

I work in private practice in the Queens Park area, NW6. I am a ten minute walk from both Queens Park tube (Bakerloo Line) and Kilburn tube (Jubilee Line). I am also close to the overground stations of Brondesbury and Brondesbury Park. There is metered and RinGo parking at the top of my road and in the surrounding streets.

You can call me to arrange a first session on 07956 638481 or email me here.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with over ten years experience. I have worked in NHS settings; running counselling services in doctors surgeries and as a counsellor in a Bereavement Service. I also work for Re…root, a counselling and psychotherapy organisation in Richmond, WSM; a work stress management organisation, as a counsellor for Nuffield health, as well as in my own private practice in Queens Park. I draw on Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural approaches and offer the therapeutic balance of these ways of working that will be most helpful for my clients.

I started my counselling training at Birkbeck University and went on to complete an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling at Greenwich University. I have trained in EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy) couples counselling and have a NICE approved qualification in cfd (counselling for depression). I am a fully registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
