About me

Hi, I am Ella, before I tell you a bit about me, I would like to acknowledge the important step you have taken to find a counsellor. I appreciate that coming to counselling can feel like a really daunting, anxious thing to do which can create a barrier to accessing help sometimes, that’s why it’s important to take your time to find the right counsellor for you.

I am a trained counsellor who can help you manage and overcome many challenges and changes that can naturally occur through periods of your life with a safe, warm and friendly environment. You may be going through a difficult time in your relationship, work, life, feel misunderstood, have anxiety, have experienced grief and loss, you may not know what is causing you to feel the way you’re feeling and that’s okay; it’s important to explore what’s going on for you in a calm, supportive environment in which you feel comfortable.

I offer a non-judgemental, warm environment to calmly explore intimate thoughts, feelings and issues you may be experiencing all whilst tailoring the counselling sessions to you, in order to provide a personalised service to help and understand your needs and preferences are. In order for one to feel aligned again, it’s important to express emotions and feel validated.

Sometimes it can be hard to see how things will change but talking to someone independent from friends and family can really help support you without the fear of judgement or opinions of those close to you.

I understand it can feel like a big step choosing a counsellor, this is why I offer a 15-30 minute introductory call, I can get to know you and explore what you would like from counselling and you can decide weather you feel I would be a good fit for you.

I offer telephone, online and face to face counselling. I am based in Pickering for face to face, but can be flexible depending, please get in touch with me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
