We are now working face to face video calling via Vsee, which is available to download free from www.talkingheadstherapy .co.uk. In the Pembrey area, home visits are available as well as practice based appointments.
As an experienced, advanced accredit psychotherapist ,I work with multi models of therapies, including EMDR and Hypnotherapy. Being a senior associate member of the Royal Society of Medicine, my role is to find which types of therapy fits well with my clients. Practising in Tividale, Oldbury, (online only) Pembrey & Burry Port (practice based and home visits), Carmarthenshire, I work with many issues in psychoanalytical, humanistic, cognitive behavioural therapy and EMDR, feel free to browse our website for further information. My specialisms are in abuse, trauma, identity disorders, disassociated amnesia, anxiety, stress, depression and suicidal thoughts, phobias, and relationship issues. We offer both weekly and fortnightly appointments, including online video calling therapy for clients who are unable to travel. The advantages of counselling and psychotherapy give us a clear insight to the true essence of ourselves, unhindered by the fast-paced modern environment and the complexity of various relationships.
My work ethic is strong and professional in particular with care of duty towards my clients and the support they need. I am non-judgemental, empathic, very approachable, with a good sense of humour and I feel privileged in my work with clients and all they have taught me over the years, in this ever-changing world. I am a firm believer that clients are often their own experts but are not always aware of this, because we can all become conditioned by the environment, others and what is expected of us in life. It is important to me that the right style and model of therapy is used to help fit clients, because we are all uniquely different.
On a weekly basis, we all focus on the organisation of our work loads, or worry about a lack of work, our family commitments, our recreational time, the running of our households and all that entails but how many of us take time out to organise our mental housekeeping, where we quietly reflect on ourselves and where we are at in life, our fears, desires and personal needs?
By understanding this, we can make a choice, adapt ourselves to a healthier and happier future. The expression “the truth will set you free” is a very apt statement when it comes to counselling and psychotherapy. For many of us, life has not always been kind, in fact, for some of us there has been intense cruelty, where there is little hope for a better future, or even a safe one. By seeking and facing the truth, however painful sometimes, we can change our life’s outcome, helping us to reach and fulfil our potential by understanding and breaking the patterns that keep us partially in chains.

On-line counselling has become ever more popular during the last ten years. Modern technology has brought us even more improved services from systems such as Ring.MD, (which is a completely confidential platform for health professionals). Research now shows clear evidence that online counselling has equally beneficial results with practice based counselling and the online trend continues to grow.
Why choose online counselling?
There are several reasons why so many people choose to work on their issues with a counsellor privately on-line, which is protected by strict confidentiality and professional ethics. Sometimes clients connect with a particular therapist who lives outside of their area, whilst others feel uncomfortable attending the therapist’s practice. Whatever the reasons are, many of our clients simply find this means of counselling to be more convenient, as it’s carried out from the comfort of their own homes, without the hassle of travelling to an appointment after a long days work. In fact, during a daytime session you don’t even need to take more than an hour away from your work, as long as you have a private workplace facility.
In turn, we have learnt to carefully observe our client’s facial and vocal expressions towards their inner feelings whilst they are on-line, although some prefer to turn off their web-cam; it is felt important that the therapist gage the expression of your vocal input. The sessions are 50 minutes long, with a 10-minute review of the session at the end.
I use high-speed fibre optic broadband. Initially, as with any other type of counselling, I go online with you for the first session of 1.5 hours - this includes the initial consultation, to determine what your issues are and how I can help. This also gives us a clear indication, as to the quality of your general broadband strength and connectivity in your area. Once we establish that a good communication link is in place, you’ll then be able to book your session through my website's calendar, the book now button throughout the website.
