Welcome to my profile. I am a qualified, BACP registered, integrative therapist. I work flexibly, drawing on several approaches and adapting the way I work to suit your needs. I believe that we all have the resources we need to heal within us and these can be harnessed through a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship. I will support you in expressing and reflecting on your emotions, and in identifying ways that are meaningful to you. I am equipped with grounding exercises, for when you might need to come into the present and feel calm and connected.
I offer walking, telephone, and online sessions. Walking therapy is where the therapist and client have the therapy session whilst walking together, outside in nature. There are numerous benefits to working in this way. Walking out in the open can make it easier to express yourself, whilst being in nature can offer grounding and a sense of connectedness. Walking sessions can take place in the following London parks: Golders Hill Park, Regents Park, Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens, Holland Park, or Battersea Park.
Training, qualifications & experience
MSc in Therapeutic Counselling, University of Greenwich, 2018.
BA (Hons) in International Development, University of Leeds, 2011.
I am experienced in working with a range of issues and I have extensive experience in working with trauma. I believe that having a knowledge of trauma that is grounded in bodily experience is beneficial and relevant to a wide range of issues that bring people to therapy.
In addition to working privately, I have been working as a therapist with survivors of abuse in a charity setting for several years.
Prior to qualifying as a therapist, I worked in various support worker, advocacy and caseworker roles with survivors of domestic and/or sexual abuse, learning disabled adults and young people with complex needs.
I am committed to continually developing my skills and knowledge through training and other forms of learning.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
