About me

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor working with adults and youths aged 12+ with issues including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, relationship issues, bereavement, self-esteem, loss of direction and panic disorder (a full list of issues worked with is below). In addition to my private practice, I work for the NHS IAPT Service and have also worked for the Youth Counselling Service (NHS Trust Surrey and Borders), Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and a busy GP's Surgery.

My counsellling approach is centred around you, focussing on you and what you wish to gain from therapy.   I offer a calm and non-judgmental space for you to explore the difficulties you are experiencing, helping you to gain a better understanding of them and enabling you to find ways to cope better with your personal situation.

I offer one-to-one counselling appointments from comfortable private rooms at The Eaves in Farnham and Godalming.   A free of charge 15 minute telephone consultation is available for you to talk about your counselling requirements and find out more about the way I work. You can also email me with any questions you may have about counselling. Weekly counselling sessions are encouraged initially and I build in time for reviews to monitor progress.

I strongly believe in the power we all have within ourselves to grow and make a difference in our lives. Counselling can also be a way of exploring coping techniques to help with stressful or overwhelming situations now and in the future.

As an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, I adhere to their strict code of ethics.

Training, qualifications & experience

As well as my private practice, I have experience working for:

The Youth Counselling Service (NHS Virgin Care) – Counselling Youths aged 12-24.

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice – Counselling patients with life-limited illness and bereaved family members.

GP’s surgery in Woking - general adult counselling.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
