About me

My background is as a Speech and Language Therapist and I work with adults with a range of challenges including stammering, functional voice and functional neurological disorder (FND). Most of these problems cause or stem from, emotional problems such as anxiety, depression and trauma. I can help you understand how the brain works when under stress, and how the powerful mind body link can cause our bodies to malfunction. I help clients to address these issues and find ways to cope in as few sessions as possible. I can also help you to resolve trauma in a fast , safe and effective way, using the “Rewind Technique”. Please check out my website or contact me if you’d like to know more about this.

Human Givens Therapy addresses what all humans need to flourish. It’s ‘a given’ that in order to survive, we all need air to breathe, water, food and shelter- those are physical needs. In addition, we have basic emotional needs such as security, a sense of control over what happens to us, a sense of purpose, giving and receiving attention to others and belonging to a social group. If these needs aren’t met, how can we be emotionally well? I can help you understand how to use the resources you were born with -but might not know you have- to take back control on your path to recovery.

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My clinic in Ballynure is in a rural setting which is easy to access by road and public transport. There is plenty of space for free parking and the whole place is wheelchair accessible with a disabled toilet.
