Elizabeth Lilley - Online Counsellor for Women and Young People

About me

Hi please call me Liz, I am passionate about providing a warm, confidential space for women and young people online and over the phone. I can support you through offering a safe, compassionate relationship in which to find resolution to the challenges you face, be the best version of yourself, whatever that may look like, and thrive. My free initial 30 minute sessions are an opportunity to meet and talk through what you wish to reflect on and ask any questions you may have, I'd be happy to see if it feels like the right fit to work together so do get in touch.

Whether it's something from the past or something more current that has led you to reach out for some additional support I can offer you a space, without judgement, to feel safe to explore your vulnerabilities and be held as you are.

I am qualified and experienced in working online so that you get the most out of working in this accessible way. You can choose to engage in our sessions from the comfort of your home, or wherever feels safe for you, so there is no additional travel to your day. I work via video, telephone, email and instant messenger so you can choose which feels most comfortable and get started. I have put together a video below that introduces you to these different ways of accessing counselling support, however I can flexible if you want to switch between styles to fit in with your life or availability.

I welcome a call, text or email and will always try to find a time to meet that suits you within a few days if I can't speak immediately.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have 8 years experience working with both adults and young people. I regularly support people through issues such as anxiety, self-worth, relationships, stress, low mood, depression, the affects of traumatic experiences and life transitions including loss, adolescence, identity and parenting as well as issues specific to women and the womb.

Alongside my private practice I work for a Brighton based charity offering a free online counselling service to young people. I am a massage therapist and am training in breathwork facilitation. I understand the body/mind connection and this influences my counselling work so I may offer insights from my knowledge and experience in these fields too if it feels relevant.

My training has been extensive but specifically I received a 1st Class BA (Hons) Humanistic Psychotherapy and have a General Certificate in Online Counselling.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
