In therapy we explore how your earliest experiences with primary caregivers and the external social, economic and political circumstances you grew up with may have impacted on the way you think, feel and behave in adult relationships. By jointly observing these patterns in therapy, we may be able to bring them into conscious awareness and so make them susceptible to change.
The process of change can be long-winded as we need to repeat certain patterns all over again to understand them and give them some meaning. Psychotherapy is therefore not a quick fix and needs time, but it may lead to stable and long-lasting change.
I see my clients once or twice weekly, ideally at the same time. I work face-to-face and online in circumstances which make it impossible to see people in my consulting room. I recommend a duration of at least six months.
A session lasts 50 minutes and ideally takes place at a fixed hour in the week.

Training, qualifications & experience
I underwent a training course in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and subsequently became a member of IPSS (Institute of Psychotherapy and Social Studies) and UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy, CPJA section.
My first professional qualification is in teaching. I trained as a secondary school teacher and have been working as a German teacher for many years, specializing in teaching German as a Foreign Language. I am also the mother of a 13-year old daughter and live with my family outside London.
In my work I draw from psychoanalytic literature and attachment theory, developmental psychology and neuroscience, but also from literature and the arts.
