About me

I have been involved in therapeutic work with adults and children for over 20 years.

Personal life experiences have taught me a deeper understanding of how childhood experiences impact on our adult lives and my interest in how people relate to each other, how implicit messages are conveyed and the outcomes or response they elicit developed as my knowledge, both academic and experiential of narcissistic personality traits increased. As well as my general therapy practise I offer a specialised service to clients who have experienced relationship abuse with a narcissistic personality type.

Before training in counselling I worked as a therapeutic foster carer looking after children from newborn up to 16 years and also provided support to parents with children who presented with challenging behaviour, developmental delays and anxiety. Over these years I developed an understanding of trauma and attachment and I continue to add to my knowledge.

I now work as a trauma and attachment informed therapist integrating different modalities to suit the individual. I offer a client focused method tailored to suit the individual and their needs including WALKEASE which is a unique approach taking therapy out of the therapy room and into the open air. Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working with clients presenting with depression, anxiety, trauma, complicated grief, historic abuse and neglect. I have developed a special interest in narcissistic abuse and am committed to use both my training and lived experience to help clients on their journey of recovery and healing enabling them live a purposeful fulfilled life.

I offer you understanding and empathy and aim to work collaboratively. My first premise is that we are all born with perfect sense of who we are. Therapy is guided by you, the client, through discussing the issues you present and together we identify the goals we will work on together, reviewing and adjusting as time progresses. My journey into therapeutic work began as a therapeutic foster carer and progressed into school based work helping both students aged 5-15 years and the parents. Through this work I developed a keener understanding of how our childhood experiences form our adult patterns of relating and how we pass those patterns on to our children, often without awareness of the implications for their future lives. I am a professionally accredited Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I blend recognised psychotherapeutic approaches with holistic and spiritual practices. I use Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) and Emotion Code techniques to uncover and release trapped emotions which encroach on the individual’s ability to live life to the full or succeed in their work and or relationships. We often discover that the challenges we face might have begun long before we were born and my interest in Ancestral Lineage Healing has become a transformational part of the work I offer my clients. My work is both trauma informed and attachment theory informed.

I work with adults individually online across the UK and internationally I also offer inperson workshops and retreats. Although the work can be either short term or long term the approach requires a certain degree of commitment from both therapist and client. I enjoy working with clients who are committed to helping themselves to better understand their circumstances and are open to making changes to improve their lives.
