I am a BACP accredited psychodynamic counsellor working with both children and adults using psychodynamic and CBT techniques.
Counselling provides an opportunity to reflect on early experiences and significant events in your life, enabling you to explore how these shape your current thinking, feelings and behaviour.
In a safe, contained and confidential space, we can work together to gain insight into your thoughts and feelings and what might lie behind them. Counselling aims to help you find your own inner strength to live a happier and more fulfilled life.
I have worked with clients managing a range of difficult issues including bereavement, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, depression and unemployment. I have also worked with children experiencing attachment issues, bullying, exam stress and behavioural problems. Play and art therapy form an important part of the therapeutic process when working with children.
We can then arrange a first appointment to meet, for me to ask some questions and us to decide whether we think we could work together. There is no fee for this first session and there is no obligation to carry on if you do not feel comfortable.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP – Registration No. 277978) and I abide by their ethical framework.
In addition to my psychodynamic counselling qualification, supplemented by professional development, I also have a CPCAB qualification in counselling children.
I am a fully-qualified teacher with a PGCE from the University of Cambridge and I have a postgraduate diploma in psychology.
